Updating CrossRoad Datafiles from Templates
- Make a backup of all your current data.
- Download Setup.zip from the FTP site.
- Unzip into a temporary folder.
- Make sure that no one else is using CrossRoad. Run setup.exe from the temporary folder.
- The setup will remember the previously selected folder; if this is the first installation, put this in a subfolder on your network under \sis.
- After copying the files, the setup will launch an external program to update the structures. Once started it will display a blank screen with the following toolbar.
- The icon with the green triangular arrow starts the data structure update. Click it, and a folder selection dialogue as follows will be displayed. Select the empty folder. This is the "template" folder -- that is the source for the correct data structures.
- A second dialogue allows you to select the target data structure -- this is your live data. In this case choose the sis folder.
- A progress bar will indicate the process of updating these structures. This will go by quickly as this folder has only two files in it. Then a dialogue will tell you the number of files updated, copied and total.
- You will then be asked about rebuilding the indexes. Choose Yes.
- You will be prompted twice more for folders that are the source and target for the indexes. These will be preselected to be the same as what you just selected.
- Two progress windows will track the progress through the index list and the updating of each index. Finally a dialog will indicate that we are done and how many files were created.
- Steps 7-12 should be repeated for each of the dbf.mm and arc.mm folders. I have included the pictures of the dialogues from my development system. First the dbf.mm folders (first for structures and then for indexes) And the arc.mm folders, again for structures and then for indexes.
- When all three folders have been processed, click the exit button (the one with the red square). This will return you to the setup program, where you should click the Finish button.
Your datafiles should now be updated to the latest structures and the indexes rebuilt.
