COURSE DESCRIPTION: | An opportunity to do intensive study of a special topic or theologian of particular interest to the student. Students work closely with a theology faculty member in tutorial meetings. For directed studies in theology, students must apply in advance to a theology faculty member. This course does not fulfill theology foundations requirements. Prerequisites: Six credits in theology at the 300-level, and instructor's consent. | |||||||||||

COURSE OBJECTIVES: | The student will acquire additional skills in careful reading of biblical or theological texts, making use of primary source materials, appropriate research tools and methods, and relevant and current secondary literature. The student will produce a research paper demonstrating a knowledge and understanding of the chosen subject appropriate to the level of the student's education. |
