|COURSE OBJECTIVES:||This course is designed to develop basic choral singing techniques and a general understanding of choral music and its history. The basics of vocal pedagogy will be covered, and students will also develop the sight-reading and listening skills required in choral ensembles. The instructor will share a text translation or interpretation, as well as a rudimentary formal analysis and/or synopsis of all music covered throughout the semester. The choir will prepare and perform both accompanied and a cappella music from various centuries. Repertoire will be of differing styles and in various languages.|
