COURSE DESCRIPTION: Students have an opportunity to work closely with the history staff in an in-depth investigation of major periods or themes shaping western culture. Special attention is given to methodology, historiography and the interpretation of history. Students are required to present a major research paper for seminar discussion.

Prerequisites: Six credits in history at the 300 level
