COURSE DESCRIPTION: A course on a topic or figure of special interest to a member of the philosophy faculty and offered on a non-recurring basis.

Prerequisites: PHIL 230

2002/03 Fall

This course will introduce students to the major themes of Friedrich Nietzsche’s philosophy.  We will focus on Nietzsche’s account of morality and religion.  We will also examine his discussion of the causes and consequences of Western Nihilism, as well as the solutions he proposes for its overcoming (the Overman and the Eternal Recurrence).
