Tuition fees, with some exceptions, are calculated by multiplying the number of credits by the fee per credit.
For all programs, a three-credit course costs $1,548.00 for domestic students and $2,322.00 for international students. Normal course loads vary by program and year of study, but are typically 15.5 credits per term (31 credits per year).
For the purposes of fee assessment, a full-time student is a student taking 9 or more credits. A part-time student is a student taking fewer than 9 credits, including visiting and unclassified students.
New international students have a $5,000 New International Student Deposit (NISD). The deposit is a partial advance payment of tuition and fees and is applied to the student account.
The New International Student Deposit is a non-refundable deposit paid by international students who have received a study permit approval and are now eligible to legally study in Canada. This deposit is required before the student may enroll in classes. In the case where the IRCC requests a full first year tuition payment as a requirement for study permit processing, the student is welcome to pay the tuition however, students will not be allowed to register for classes until their study permit is approved.
If the student ceases to be an international student before beginning their studies (ie becomes a Permanent Resident), the deposit remains on the students account as a credit, in the same way it would if the deposit resulted in overpaying for the first semester for an international student.
If the student ceases to be an international student before the add/drop deadline, the student will not be subject to the International Student tuition levy that term. If the tuition has already been paid, the international portion will be reversed and applied as a credit to the account if it was paid from the NSID deposit in their first semester. If it was not paid as part of their deposit, it will be refundable or may remain on the student's account at the choice of the student.
If the student ceases to be an international student after the add/drop deadline but before the deadline to withdraw and receive a 50% refund, 50% of the International tuition will be creditable to the student in the same way described above.
